China December Soybean Shipments May Decline 2%, Ministry Says

China’s soybean imports may decline to 5.3 million metric tons this month compared with about 5.4 million tons in November, the Ministry of Commerce said.

Inbound soybean oil shipments may total 195,000 tons in December compared with 99,100 tons last month and palm oil arrivals may be 214,100 tons, down from 341,800 tons, the ministry said in a statement on its website dated yesterday.

China’s commerce ministry publishes semi-monthly reports on imports of bulk-oilseed products and the forecast numbers are usually lower than the actual amount, according to the China National Grain & Oils Information Center.
