Pepper, kalaunji fall on subdued demand

New Delhi, Nov 19 (PTI) Black pepper and kalaunji prices fell by Rs 200 per quintal each in the national apital today, owing to weak local and export demand at existing higher levels.
Black pepper fell by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 21,700-21,800 per quintal.
Kalaunji prices also traded lower at Rs 9,500-10,500 against previous closing of Rs 9,700-10,700 per quintal.
Marketmen said reduced offtake by stockists and exporters at prevailing higher levels mainly pulled down the pepper and kalaunji prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today''s quotations (per quintal):
Ajwain 13,500-18,000, black pepper common 21,700-21,800 betelnut (kg) 98-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 890-900 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 850-980.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,000-1,100, cardamom (colour robin) 965-980, cardamom bold 985-1,000, cardamom extra (bold) 1,100-1,110 and cloves (kg) 300-370-350.
